In 2015, one of our participants, a new mother, saved her money for four months and honored her commitment of giving $50 to attend camp. She knew the per person cost was $900, and with tears in her eyes she said, “I wish I could give more.” Now, two years later, the women who attended camp with this new mom have stayed in contact and continue supporting one another. Here is what she has to say about the impact attending camp with other survivors has made on her healing journey.

Her story is not uncommon or rare, and the women who attend our programs are incredibly grateful that a community of generous individuals are willing and able to support their healing journeys, as it is only through community action and support that we will heal from and end sexual and domestic violence. We are proud to say that since offering our first program in 2005, Camp Mabon, we have never turned a woman away due to lack of financial resources, and we will always honor this commitment as we do not believe money should ever stand in the way of healing from trauma.
Each program costs $10,000-$15,000 to offer, requiring both cash and material resources. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution or making an in-kind donation (see our list above).
